Decal Guide
The non-adhesive static cling makes application to any smooth
glass or plastic surface easy. To remove etched glass decals, simply lift
a corner and peel it off.
Read all instructions
carefully before applying:
**DO NOT allow the paper backing on the decal to get wet before you remove the
decal.**
Clean hands thoroughly to prevent dirt and oils from your hands
getting on the surface of the window decoration. Clean surface thoroughly before
applying. Wipe dry with a lint free cloth.
1. Spray clean glass liberally with a glass cleaner
before applying your window decoration. A sufficient amount of moisture is
required between the decoration and glass to give an even appearance once dried.
2. Peel the window decoration from the backing paper and
position it on the surface of the glass. Use your hands to smooth out any large
bubbles. It is necessary to place the side of the decoration that is on the
backing paper to the glass. If patterns are to face each other, apply one to the
interior and one to the exterior of the surface.
3. Never install on a dry surface. For easier
handling, spray the surface of the window decoration before applying. This
will prevent the film from clinging to itself.
4. Spray the
surface of the window decoration with a generous amount of glass cleaner.
Using a rubber tipped squeegee, plastic drivers license, or credit card type
object, squeegee out the excess air and moisture.
NOTE: Make sure there are no sharp irregularities on edge.
5. Wipe dry with a lint free cloth.
If tiny bubbles appear between the window decoration and the surface, repeat
Step 4. Any excess moisture should begin to evaporate within 24
hours.
Plastic Windows - Interior application is recommended.
Please check with the window manufacturer before applying window cleaner to any
plastic surface. If window cleaner can not be used, a light soapy water solution
is recommended for application and installation.
General Information:
-
If, at any time bubbles occur, simply peel back the area
affected and re-apply. Bubbles that are visible only from the glass side are due
to insufficient moisture during application, spray a generous amount of
window cleaner to wet the glass and material before you squeegee.

Clean Glass.
It is very important that the glass be clean. Use a scrapper
to remove any paint splatters or hard materials that may be stuck to the
surface. The glass should now be clean.
After cleaning, but before starting to apply,
WASH YOUR HANDS. This prevents dirt and oils
from your hands from getting between the film and the glass as you apply it. |
 |
Wet glass with soapy water. Using a spray bottle with water and a
few drops of liquid soap thoroughly wet glass. Set
spray bottle to a mist setting.
TIP: Completely wetting the glass makes it
easiest to position the film & squeegee out air bubbles. |
 |
Remove from backing paper. Remove film from backing paper and
position on glass. |
 |
Apply to wet glass and smooth with hands.
Use the side of your hand to smooth
out any large bubbles. The film will then "float" on the glass for you to move
into its final position. |

 |
Use free squeegee (included) to remove water and air bubbles. Once in place, Squeegee out all air
bubbles.
TIP: It is easiest to squeegee out the air
bubbles if you use your soap and water spray bottle to wet the front of the
film before squeegeeing.
TIP: If an edge of the material tries to
roll up and will not lie flat, use a hair dryer on a low heat setting to warm
the material until it is becomes pliable. Turn off heat and hold in place for
60-90 seconds or until material cools to room temperature. |

WindowViews
Guide
For best results and more
fun, we recommend having a friend help when installing your WindowView.
**DO NOT
allow the paper backing on the WindowView to get wet before you remove
the film.**
| 1. |
Clean window with a typical household window
cleaner and dry with a lint free cloth.
Determine your window size, and compare it to the WindowView. If
cropping is needed to fit onto glass, decide which portion of the
image is to be used. Avoid applying to windows that have been
recently exposed to extreme hot or cold conditions. |
|
| 2. |
SINGLE PANE WINDOWS: Trim the image
approximately 1 inch larger than the glass. The top should be a
clean, straight edge for alignment purposes or use a factory edge.
MULTI-PANE WINDOWS: Some additional trimming is necessary.
Measure the height of both panes. Trim the WindowView approximately
1 inch longer than each piece of glass. For best alignment, remove
a space equal to the horizontal window divider. Again both top
edges of the two sections should be cut clean and straight to assure
the best results.
|
 |
| 3. |
Add water and 2-3 drops of liquid dish soap to the
spray bottle provided. Mist glass liberally with water/soap
solution. The water/soap solution will allow the WindowView to be
positioned more easily. |
 |
| 4. |
Lay the WindowView face down on a clean, flat, hard
surface. Beginning with one corner, gently separate entire backing
material from the WindowView.
Starting with the top edge, position image (making sure it is
straight) on the window. Gently smooth out any air bubbles with your
hand. |
 |
| 5. |
Glide squeegee with the squeegee sleeve (provided),
over the image to work all air bubbles and excess water/soap
solution toward the edges of the WindowView. If needed, lift edge
of WindowView closest to any large bubbles and smooth back down.
Remist if necessary. |
 |
| 6. |
Once WindowView is in place, trim to fit the window
using a standard utility knife or single edge razor blade.
NEW blades work BEST and a straight edge should be used as a
guide. Trim (a little long if needed on first cut) so that no light
can seep through between the cut edge and window trim/frame. |
 |
| 7. |
Using a soft towel, gently dry your WindowView,
particularly at the edges.
|
 |
Storing WindowViews
Roll backing material with the shiny side out, place it in the
poly bag and put it in the shipping container. If you do take the
WindowView down, placing it on the backing material is the best way to
store the WindowView and preserve it for future reuse.
